Most people that have kayaked for very long will tell you that a fiberglass shaft paddle is the better choice. Personally I agree! I like this one because it does have more of a spooned out type blade and I like them longer when using a sit in kayak. I have not had even the slightest problem with either of the two that we bought except when I like a dummy was trying to pull myself over a log that I got hung up on with the paddle and snapped it in half where the two ends lock together. I bought mine at the Bass pro in Destin ,Fl and thought that if I was honest about how I broke it that Bass Pro would not replace it but was pleasantly surprised when they did. Nice product!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by BassBoy97 Great paddle
I got this paddle after a lot of research and comparing. It worked with no flaws and it did not wear me out from paddling becasue of its lightweight. All in all it is a good paddle and I recomend it to anyone looking for a good paddle for the value. I did not expiriiance any wiggling shaft as i read in other reviews.

My wife and I bought our first kayak (D10) last spring at BPS. I chose this paddle because it had a longer shaft than some of the others in the store. This paddle works very well even for my children (at the time they were 9 and 8 years old). The whole family easily navigated local lakes and even large, windy, choppy lakes like Winnibegoshish in MN. We didn't have any troubles with paddles falling off, I did notice a little play in the shaft where the button is, but didn't affect my paddling.
I absolutely would recommend this paddle to a beginner like myself. It is relatively inexpensive and gives a powerful stroke. I also recommend it for anglers as I used it on a pond where the wind always blows hard. You can get yourself positioned for a very precise cast even with a strong wind.

I bought this paddle and the blade fell of during the first use. I went back to Bass Pro and got it replaced, no problem. Unfortunately the replacement blades came loose on the 3rd use of the replacement paddle. When I looked at the blades (both came out this time) the glue was old and cracked and not even making contact with the shaft.
I would not recommend this brand of paddle to anyone.
