The Rancher coat is great as expected from Carhartt. The style is as explained. Lining is thinner than expected, but it your working in it, keeps you plenty warm without overheating. The drawstring is in the midsection which is a good location, but seems to show through the outline on the exterior of the coat. The "belly" area is heavily ballooned, so the drawstring may be needed if your a thinner guy. If I tighten it to where the coat fits me, keeping in mind that I'm 5'5" 170Lbs, it looks insanely oversized. I feel as though the neck area is rather oversized as well. I own a number of Carhartt jackets and coats, and this is the first problem fit I've ever had. I cut the tags off, so I won't return it, but if I had baught it local, I world return it. Same "size" as every other jacket I own, but feel and look like I'm swimming in it. Never the less, everything else is outstanding. With Carhartts return policy, I'm sure something could be worked out, but I just think a smaller size would be too small in other places.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Matthew82 Most durable/comfortable work coat
This Jacket is probably the most durable Carhartt I have ever owned. It has very durable material and is excellent to work with. In Colorado weather it will be sufficient with a flannel on working outside as long as it does not fall below 25 F. Then it does not work so well. You need a down jacket. But, this Carhartt is very comfortable especially in the arms. It has good/average insulation. It is a much better fit than the other hooded versions #J130 or J141. Some of hooded versions felt too boxy and very restricted in arms. The material felt too stiff. At 5'10 and 230lbs. I have plenty of room to move around with a fleece underneath it with a 2xl fit. Definitely a coat I will recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jsmith175 Great design with lots of options
This coat was a Christmas gift from my wife and it has quickly become one of the most durable and versatile coats I've ever owned. One of it's best features is the top load/hand warmer pocket combination. I love having hand warmer pockets but never liked carry tools and parts in them. This combo pocket design eliminates all of that. While it's a small touch, the media wire pocket is a very nice feature as well (shoveling snow is much more enjoyable with some music).
I only rated 4 stars in FIT because the coat seemed exceptionally long at first and took some adjustment to get used to. It was ordered and is labeled as a Large/Regular but has almost the feel of a Large/Tall. Be prepared for this when you order. I would happily recommend this to anyone looking for a solid chore coat with some deluxe features.
