After more than ten years this coat is still in pretty good condition it keeps me warm with just a tee-shirt underneath and I am by no means a polar bear. I used to work in a factory now I am a teacher and I wear this coat with a shirt and tie no problem! I am buying a new one because I can't imagine using any other coat and the old one is getting too beat up for work (small stuff - broken zipper, Velcro loose) more cosmetic than functional. I love all the pockets (6 in all) the two front ones are huge, keep your hands warm and won't let you loose the things that you put in them. A word to the wise GET THE OPTIONAL HOOD its an extra 30 bucks but well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1countryboy extremely warm
great jacket, a bit stiff to start with, it is well worth the break-in time for the warmth and protection it provides...the best winter jacket I have ever had,,,I do think I will have to buy another one, only because I need to have more than one color...buy it you will not regret it for a moment

I bought this same coat a few years back i can honestly say you can not destroy this coat. I'm a linemen I'm always working in the cold and this coat has done more than it's job. I've been snagged on things and it wouldn't rip I've been cut up on poles and it didn't rip. Most importantly it's warm never owned a better coat I give it 100%.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Adamlovestofish Carhartt, do I need to say more?
I just picked up this jacket and I am very pleased. I spent a few hours in the rain yesterday with it and stayed dry from the thighs up anyway. 20-30 mph winds today with temps in the high 30's and no wind is getting in AT ALL! Still nice and warm but not hot and thats good. As noted in other reviews the jacket is stiff, if and when I can break it in I'm sure I'll love it even more. Quality is great as with all the carhartt products I've used.
