WHAT'S , WITH THIS BLACK, DARK AND DINGY? MOST OF US ARE NOT FARMERS ANYMORE. ONE CAN DYE OR COAT CANVAS WITH ANY COLOR IN THE RAINBOW. BLACK IS A BAD CHOICE FOR ARCTIC GEAR BECAUSE, WHEN IT'S WINTER IN THE ARCTIC IT'S DARK NEARLY ALL THE TIME. AND BLACK IN SNOW CAN BE TAKEN FOR ROCKS OR TREES. IT TENDS TO BE CONSIDERABLY DARKER IN THE REST OF NORTH AMERICA TOO. SO IF ONE ISN'T OPERATING IN STEALTH MODE, IT'S GENERALLY A VERY GOOD IDEA TO BE VERY VISABLE. ESP. IN OUTSIDE WORK SUCH AS CONSTRUCTION, SNOW SHOVELING, FISHING HUNTING, CROSS WALK ATTENDENT, GROUNDS KEEPING, ANIMAL TENDING, FURIERS, COURIER, ETC. I have to admit I am jealous as Carhartt employees
Have an easy job selling a product that sells itself,I
Have a second coat that fits great, warm in the 10°
Freezer and the attached hood is also a great fit
And warm . I was.ooking at the jeans jacket, that is going to be my next purchase. The order time to receiving the coat was great only one day.
People at carheartt are friendly,answer all my questions. I am buying a great product and recommend it to my family and friends.

I'm always cold. I've never owned a coat that was warm enough that I would leave the house in winter when it wasn't mandatory.
I bought this coat a couple years ago, and I now go walking with my husband, even in the coldest weather. It's strange feeling the bitter cold on my legs and face, and almost sweating under my coat. It's durable, has plenty of large pockets- my ereader fits in one just fine! I got the optional hood, too. I tell everyone I can, if they want to be warm in winter, they NEED this coat!

After more than ten years this coat is still in pretty good condition it keeps me warm with just a tee-shirt underneath and I am by no means a polar bear. I used to work in a factory now I am a teacher and I wear this coat with a shirt and tie no problem! I am buying a new one because I can't imagine using any other coat and the old one is getting too beat up for work (small stuff - broken zipper, Velcro loose) more cosmetic than functional. I love all the pockets (6 in all) the two front ones are huge, keep your hands warm and won't let you loose the things that you put in them. A word to the wise GET THE OPTIONAL HOOD its an extra 30 bucks but well worth it.
