Rated 1 out of 5Â by Allornothing BAD trigger pull
Accuracy is sacrificed because of trigger creep. As I squeeze the trigger slowly and evenly, the mechanism has one flat spot to go through, then a smaller one, and then it finally fires. Instructions say this is not adjustable.
Instructions for the quiver are terrible. It shows four pictures and you have to decide which one you have. It does not show how the quiver should look on the bow once installed. I called customer service at Carbon Express and she could not even find a picture on the internet to direct me to.
Finally, the bolt that holds the cocking stirrup on works lose in 5 shots or less.

I purchased this crossbow due tot he fact that CX had already stopped making the CX2's for the year and sold out of them.
The CX1 is a very nice crossbow! Took about 15mins to setup which including waxing the strings and lubing the rail. Sighting in the crossbow was even easier with about 5 shots required to hit a quarter at 20yrds.
Chrono graphed at 319fps after being fully decked out with a 100gr TR MeatSeeker head on the included Maxima bolts.
Cocking the CX1 is a breeze. Trigger pull is a little stiff but not too bad. The illuminated recticle is alittle bright at any setting which really reduces its effectiveness in low light shooting. The crossbow is a little noisier than others due to lack of a string suppresor/stop system which is hopefully going to be something CX can offer to customers later in development.
The only bad thing I have to say was a sherely bad luck incident in which the cocking string has a knot in the t-handle string came loose during cocking after about 25 uses. Luckily I was only about 1/4 of the way into the process but still had enough weight on the string that it caused the cocking sting parts to go flying in all directions. Easy fix nothing major but had this happened when the cocking process was almost at full draw it could have been a major safety concern. This was not a functionality problem with the crossbow or a defect in anyway however with the bow itself which up to this point has proven to be exceptional.

What is the kill range for this crossbow on an animal the size of a deer? I know these things can hit way out there, but what is a decent penetration range?Answers
A:Â
Accuracy on game at distance is the limiting factor, not penetration.A:Â
General rule a crossbow is safely effective out to 40 yards. When you know your equipment and your shooting ablity this may be able to be extended out to 50 or 60 in the right condition, but I think that 40 yards is the furthest responsible shot. Good luckAnswers
