Rated 1 out of 5 by No fitting properly, cheaply made. I use two of the Canon mini lake troll downrigger setups on my 16 foot Crestliner. These mounting bases are not manufactured properly, when the downrigger is inserted there is a gap between the base of the downrigger and the parts of the bracket/base that are supposed to hold it from the top. Thus it rattles and moves. The other problem that i am experiencing is that the Tab Lock is not engaging most of the time. When downrigger is slit into the position all the way the tab is still at the base of the downrigger, thus making it impossible to engage. I have to use a key or my knife to reposition it so it clicks in. Almost lost my downriggers TWICE. The solution, i drilled holes in these and put two 2"pins with a ring in these so the riggers wouldn't slide out by themselves. Poor design and quality control. I would NOT recommend this setup to anyone. This was my first ever setup for trolling, with next purchase i will know what to look for what to avoid. September 23, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exactly what I needed! These mounting bases securely connect my Cannon Downriggers to the gimbal rod holder base. Tried them out last week and they are PERFECT! July 14, 2011

Rated 3 out of 5 by cheep guy mistake! I purchased a Cannon replacement mounting base for my downrigger. If I had only been able to overcome my cheep nature, I would have opted to spend a few dollars more. Then I would now have the much greater utility of a swival base! Live and learn. Some times you spend a little more to save. September 26, 2010
