Rated 5 out of 5 by No Regrets ! The finish is excellent ! It came with two sizes of bolts.I used the shorter ones with my cannon base. The holes lined up perfect .It slides into my flush mount pole holder on my swim step and locks in with the base one inch up from the step. Its just what I wanted.I didnt have to drill any new holes in my boat ! September 5, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Need recessed rod holders The last sentence of description is crucial. My boat does not have recessed rod holders so I had to return them. They look like just the ticket if you have flush mount recessed rod holders to start with. Construction is well done. July 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ad advertised Fits my cannon downrigger perfectly. Took all of 5 minutes to bolt the downrigger to this gimbal mount. It fits perfectly into the rod holder. This gimbal mount appears to be very well made. The finish quality is good and I expect to get many years of service from it. June 26, 2012

Details:
I am going to be installing rod holders as well. I have Atwood 15 degree stainless flush mount rear facing. what is the angle of the plate? should be the same degree as the rod holder to make it level with transom rails right?

A:
The angle of this gimbal mount matched the angle of my rod holders perfectly. I didn't even think about it, but I guess there is a fairly standard angle across rod holders.

I have the exact same setup and they are perfectly matched. I tried everything out last week and it's Great! Now I can reach those monster Stripers that stay deep in the hot summer months.
