If you're looking for a simple, no nonsense, form-follows-function design rather than a fancy looking fire pit, The Del Rio will not disappoint you at all. It's actually more attractive than the photos, but still a very simple design with welded steel bands and a coppery looking fire bowl. I'm not sure the coppery finish will stand up, but it's a fire pit - I don't care. Otherwise, I am confident from initial use that this is very well made. There's not a lot of extra flash here to turn shoddy looking. Puts out a LOT of heat and like someone else said, you really get nice looking flames almost like a wood fire. The very basic lava rocks are in two colors, red and gray, so it looks like there's ash, giving the impression of a charcoal or wood fire. Very trouble free, easy to use. Caution: do NOT turn it on too slowly or you'll get sudden burst of flames when you hit the ignitor. Experiment carefully at first to find the proper amount of gas to allow to flow before igniting - and don't lean over it! You absolutely cannot beat this for a fire pit under $300. It does sit very low, only about ten inches high. Camp Chef makes a very similar model they call a fire table if you want a taller model. I'd recommend this without hesitation - might buy another one for another area of the yard. The first one is by the swimming pool for cooler evenings. Surprisingly good range of high to low levels of flame and heat. I'm more than happy with this purchase - even better product than I really expected. Kudos to Fire Chef - I will consider other products by this company.

The only reason I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars is because I had to replace the original faulty valve, but it was not difficult to do, and the people at Camp Chef were very helpful and accomodating. They wanted to make sure I was happy with the firepit and I am. It was very disappointing that it didn't work out of the box, but I feel like the fix was easier than the hassle of returning. We will get lots of use out of this and for the price the quality is great. Perfect for the deck, and puts out alot of heat too.

After much searching and discussion, we ordered the Del Rio Propane Fire Pit for our deck. It is terrific! Perfect for those chilly evenings. It is easy to use and portable. We have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great product and fast shipment from Bass Pro. Item was packed very well with no shipping damage. Assembly was minimal and had it burning within 10 minutes !
Fire pit comes only with lava rock. It would have been a better bargin with a couple pieces of ceramic wood or pine cones. We are satisfied with the purchase if it continues to operate as it is now. I installed it on top of landscaping blocks and river rock and it looks great.

Yes, you need a natural gas hose and then youhave to drill out the orifice inthe valve to 1/8 inch.
