Achieve bench rest accuracy when it counts most—in the field. Caldwell® DeadShot® FieldPod™ adjusts to any gun or crossbow, supporting both forend and stock. Pivots up/down and rotates left/right for quick target acquisition. Aluminum construction. Height: 20"–42". Weight: 5 lbs.
As good as it gets !
This Fieldpod allowed me to set my scope from my tripod stand and shoot 1/2" groups at 100 yards. At my age I could never hold a rifle that steady. I used a bungy cord to secure the tripod to the stand. My only problem was the tripod does not raise high enough to clear the shooting rail. If the tripod could be separated from the rifle rest it would be great and I could have used another tripod with longer legs. Being just one piece is a drawback. Would have received 5 stars if it were not for this.

I am very satisfied with this rest. I am planning on using it while hunting from the ground with a crossbow. I really am very pleased with the advantage of being able to tilt it up and down and swing around. Adjustable legs are long enough to accommodate any situation. The adaptability to fit any type horizontal weapon is very useful. The only problem I have, is that it is not camouflage color, but I am going to fix that. For those whom shoot the crossbow, these are very useful. A crossbow is kinda heavy compared to a compound bow or a even a gun. The crossbow is very bulky and a good rest is very useful for this type bow. I have to say that those who think the crossbow is cheating compared to a compound bow, have a lot to learn as I did. The crossbows and arrows are nice and as accurate as you make them, just as a compound bows and arrows. The crossbow is not as forgiving as a compound and not a long distance weapon as some think (30) yards on a deer. Try this Caldwell DeadShot along with a crossbow and you will be glad you did.

The unit is not very stable if there is any slight wind when used to sight in a rifle. I am waiting to try it in the field as a shooting rest while hunting. I like the weight and ease of setup.

Perfect for what it's for
If you can manage an extra 5 pounds for a deadrest in the field then you will love this product. A little bulky, but easy to setup and works exacly as described. I used it in the field last week and it's a solid comfortable rest.
