3 large capacity nickel-plated baskets with plastic coated handles
Built-in thermometer
This all-in-one 8.5 gallon Cajun Fryer by R & V Works features a diamond-plate side table and three nickel-plated, large-capacity baskets with plastic cool touch handles. The versatile, high performance, low maintenance propane fryer's burner design positions the fryer's heat source 6'' above the bottom of the oil reservoir at a 45 degree angle. This design allows food and batter to fall to the bottom of the reservoir and not collect on the burner. The oil at the bottom of the reservoir never gets hot enough to burn or scorch the batter, keeping it clean to reduce oil usage by up to 70% over comparable fryers. Constructed of durable carbon steel with a high temp charcoal finish. 8.5-Gallon Fryer holds three 13-1/4" x 5-5/8" x 5-5/8" baskets. Made in USA.

I have cooked a lot of food on this brand cooker over the past couple of years ( a friend owns one) so I decided to take the plunge and spend the money on one of my own. Shipped to house and the finish was in horrible shape they cooker was basically thrown in a box with nothing to keep the metal parts from scratching each other. There was a dent and a deep gouge in the lid do the fact that something put a hole in the side of the box, BPS offered me 15% off the price and told me that the fryer is shipped from Cajun Fryer to a BPS warehouse then to my home, so that was fine. I understand after a couple cooks in the fryer the paint starts to wear off anyway. THE FRYER PICTURED IS NOT THE FRYER YOU RECIEVE Cajun Fryer has changed the way the 8.5 gallon fryer is made they have added two smaller wheels to the opposite side of the wheels in the picture so the cooker does not stay stationary and the LP tank hangs on the back of the cooker. They give you 4 bolts and 4 #3 Phillips screws and the bolts and screws thread into pieces tact welded on the adjoining piece. Two were missing and not in the box so I had to get bolts and nuts myself. I was also missing a screw and nut for the red piece that the flame nozzle affixes too, and two nuts used for the wheel bracket for the smaller wheels. You would think that for the amount that they charge for this fryer they would hold Cajun fryer to a higher standard. I just hope it cooks like the Cajun Fryers I have used in the past!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ronniea1 Great fryer!!!!
I have and have used a lot of fryers from store brought to homemade. This is by far the best cooker I have ever used, it is well worth the investment for anyone that does a lot on cooking.
I cant tell you how much food can be cooked at a time but I will say if you can have a helper there to get the fish ready. anything I have put in this product has came out perfect.

Great Product, the right height to see into and very easy to maintain the correct cooking heat. Only change I would make is to have the gas valve on the front of the cooker instead of the back.

We have both the 12 gallon and the 8.5 gallon and they are great. A lot of charity fish frys and other events make these a must. A bit noisy and a little hard to clean at the end of a season, but worth the investment.

No the fryer may have 3 baskets but they all sit in the same oil, I would not cook any thing but fish seafood and then change oil for anything else.

yes i often cook wings and fries at the same time with no problems. the 8.5 gallon is a large cooker i would recommend it to anyone i have done 15 lbs of fish and shrimp plus oysters and 5 lbs of fries in 20 minutes start to finish plus this unit will fry two 10 lb trukeys at once that is a big plus to me.
i have used mine without any problems at all. once i have to turn it around to get the burner tube on the down wind side just to fase my mind, it never blowed out
