Absolutely the best
I have fried fish for over 50 years.......fish cooker and cast iron pot. I thought that was the only way. A friend had one of the R & V Works 4-gallon Cajun Fryers at our hunting camp.......I couldn't believe how much fish he was turning out and the grease temperature stayed essentially the same. Needless to say, I purchased a 4-gallon Cajun Fryer the next week.....I couldn't be happier. I have contacted the people at R & V Works with a couple of questions and I have to say that they have the best customer service anywhere.

After reading Fishguy's comments I was somewhat reluctant about buying the 6 gal. fryer, but ordered it anyway. One of my hobbies is project building and welding, this thing is well built and there is nothing flimsy about it. We have used it to fry fish and whole chickens. Our friends state that food is some of the best they have had. Recovery time for the next load is almost instantaneous. Cleanup is simple compared to other fryers I have used, drain the oil for storage, hose out the settlings, dry out the chamber and coat with Pam or oil.

best deep fryer ever used
I first bought the 4 gal. recommended by a friend. It is amazing how many people I can cook fish for. You don't have to wait for the heat to recover. This fryer I would highly recommend this to everyone. The metal and workmanship on this is great. It should last a lifetime. I have had my friends buy these since they have seen mine. GREAT FRYER

I am a professional caterer and have 7 (seven) of these cookers, use them everyday all year long. You can not find a better cooker. No problems staying lit,oil does'nt burn,cooker made of 12 guage steel, consistantly dependable. This is my livelyhood and profession and I can promise you it won't let you down. I own the 2.5 Gal. unit. But I am going to purchase the 6 Gal. The Drain valve is in the rear of all units except the 2.5 Gal. As far as temp control. once the unit is hot you can throttle back the "Jet Engine" and depending on what and how fast you are frying, Keeping the Temp steady is not a problem but does require your attention.

Yes it has an accurate thermastat built into the lid. I have found if you get your oil 5 to 10 degrees higher than you want before you put you food in the temperature drops right to where you want it to be when you fry. The food cools down the oil 5 to 10 degrees in any fryer you use.
