2 nickel-plated baskets with plastic coated handles
Built-in thermometer
The 4 gallon Cajun Fryer by R & V Works features carbon steel construction with a hight themp charcoal finish and two nickel-plated baskets with cool touch plastic-coated handles. The versatile, high performance, low maintenance propane fryer's burner design positions the fryer's heat source 6'' above the bottom of the oil reservoir at a 45 degree angle. This design allows food and batter to fall to the bottom of the reservoir and not collect on the burner. The oil at the bottom of the reservoir never gets hot enough to burn or scorch the batter, keeping it clean to reduce oil usage by up to 70% over comparable fryers. 4-Gallon Fryer holds two 11" x 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" baskets. Made in USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JQHArkansas Excellent Fish Cooker
I bought the 4-Gal cooker and the cart to go with it. I could not believe how thick the steel is that the cooker is made out of. It is great to be able to buy something that is made in America. Bass Pro and all other companys should give us all of the made in America Products as an option. I will buy made in America products even though they may be more expensive. The cooker works great. Once the correct cooking oil temp is reached it stays in the proper cooking temp range. Even when cooking a full bag of french fries the temp did not drop out of the cooking temp range. You can cook batch after batch with no time waiting for the oil temp to get back to cooking temp.

I have been cooking fish for over 40 years and have never used a product as good as this one. The constant heat for the oil keeps the fish from burning and the clean up is amazingly easy. I will save enough on oil over the next five years to pay for the cooker. BUY IT!!

This unit by far is the best thing that I have used, it cooks fast and you wont be able to keep up with it, used it last night and had food on table in no time from piles of fish, french fries, poppers cheese balls and cheese sticks, fead 6 people in 15 min. Great design and easy to use. Just get your oil to temp and start cooking.
Clean up easy with use of Castrol Super Clean, drain oil out spray cleaner in and wash out a few times then spray with Pam. Your done ready to go for next cook.
I plan to cook homemade pork chops on a stick next, cant wait!!!
Money spent is a little high on unit but what you get in return out weighs it. WILL NEVER HAVE A TABLE TOP UNIT AGAIN THIS IS SIMPLE AND THE BEST.
Will work great if you have guest over allot. feed 30 ppl a hour easy with it.

All of the Cajun Fryers have drain cocks and they are all easy to regulate temp. I have the 6.5 and have talked with folks that use from the 4 gal. and up. They all are built the same and work similarily.
I own the 2.5 Gal. unit. But I am going to purchase the 6 Gal. The Drain valve is in the rear of all units except the 2.5 Gal. As far as temp control. once the unit is hot you can throttle back the "Jet Engine" and depending on what and how fast you are frying, Keeping the Temp steady is not a problem but does require your attention.
They are not sold gas ready, but the manufacturer can help convert it. Please contact Bass Pro Shops customer service and they can put you in contact with the appropriate person.
It does not. It has a thermometer not a thermostat.

Yes it has an accurate thermastat built into the lid. I have found if you get your oil 5 to 10 degrees higher than you want before you put you food in the temperature drops right to where you want it to be when you fry. The food cools down the oil 5 to 10 degrees in any fryer you use.
