Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Optimal results with the Optima I own 4 of the Optima 209 Magnum rifles, and I'm one happy camper! 1 Stainless and 1 Blued with Black composite stocks, and 1 Stainless and 1 Blued with Camo stocks, and I also own 1 .50cal Optima Pistol with Stainless barrel and Black stocks. I also bought one for a friend for Christmas. CVA can be proud of the way these guns are manufactured. By far the most fun I've ever had shooting! I've put 2 inch groups at 100 yards consistently using PowerBelt 245gr with 100gr pellets. I need only one more gun to complete my collection. The elusive .50 Optima pistol with Camo stocks. Buy one, YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPPOINTED. February 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by CVA Optima I had the original CVA Optim 209 with nickel barrel for at least eight years and loved it. Accurate and reliable, a friend has it now to replace his old Traditions. Just received the new CVA Optima for Christmas, light weight good balance with great options. Can't wait to through some bulletes down range with I'm sure great accuracy if its like the original Optima. You can't go wrong for the price and value of this muzzle loader; you won't be disappointed I promise!! December 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by cva optima By far the best gun for the money. Excellent groups at 100 yards. Had one for 5 years and bought this one for my friend. You won't have any problems with this gun. December 25, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Gun Ever i love this gun. i just recently bought one, my uncle recommended it to me. the first time i shot it i fell in love. almost zero kick, even with 100 grain of powder in it it still feels like shooting a .22. BUY this gun! December 16, 2012

Yes, the weapon comes with decent quality scope mounts already attached. I placed an Bushnell-Banner muzzleloader scope on it's perfect!

Yes it can. I use powder pellets, but shoot 150 gr all the time with no problem and the felt recoil is pretty tame.

Yes that's why they say "magnum". I use a 250 TC Shock wave and 130 777 with a Nikon Omega scope and I've hit silhouettes out to 225 with it.

I haven't had the opprotunity to shoot a deer yet with it.
