Properly Fit Caps
I've used the pricier Remington caps for several decades, just because they were always available & recently decided to try the less expensive CCI caps. This is an excellent example of how cheaper is better. Remington caps have a ragged open edge, often causing cap OAL to vary enough to hang up in certain straight-line cappers. The CCI are nicely finished and of more uniform length.
They make my BP firearms go bang every time, whether using actual black powder, Pyrodex, or even American Pioneer powder.

Best money i've spent!!!!
I recently purchassed two plack powder percussion revolvers ( F.LLI Pietta, Made in Italy ). A1851 Navy and 1858 New Army. I'm very pleased in the workmanship and old school look these revolers have,in fact they are more accurate than any of the modern semi-autos pistols i.ve shot. I've been shooting since i was 8 years old,so i've shot alot of guns.My next gun from here will be the 1858 New Army stainless steel target revolver, very nice, cant wait!!!!!

I use #10 CCI percussion caps on my 1858 Rem. New Army. The 10s fit perfect every time. I tried the #10s in Remington and they are a sloppy fit. Dont know why that is. CCI is the way to go.
