The bass tore these jigs up on the Tenn. river. Blk/Blu 1/4oz and a blue pork trailer in the grass can never go wrong.

I was dubious of the Buckeye mop jigs when I saw their billowing size in the water. However, the bass set me straight. I used the 3/8 in shallow water (under 10 feet), and the 1/2 for deeper presentations. The fish hit them hard in both instances--I've had many 5, 4, and 3 pounders this summer in Maine on Lake Cobbosseecontee. All I did was add a Zoom chunk trailer--I didn't fool with the skirt or the weed guard. Black and blue worked for me.

I tried these jigs after I was a bit disappointed with the durability of another manufacturer. As I mentioned in the review for that jig, I know jigging is a contact sport but the product should take some level of punishment with out failing or looking like it had been pulled down a highway. I feel that these jigs meet that challenge while performing very well. I have caught nothing under 4 pounds in a variety of situations and would say that when nothing else is working, I have confidence in going to this bait. Around logs, docks, brush piles, drops, humps, etc I have caught fish when nothing else worked. My personal preference for trailers are Zoom Super Chunks or Yum Craw Papi, even had a bit of luck with a NetBait Paca chunk.

First time I used it I caught my biggest bass ever on the particular lake I was fishing (3.5# Largemouth).
Just bouncing it in 3-4 foot near a stump bed. I think I'll use it again!

The profile is larger than any jig I've fished with--that's what seems to turn the fish on.Answers
