Buck Smooth Bone Series 119 Special Fixed Blade Knife
buck bone 119 knife
This was my 4th buck bone knife purchase, I bought different sizes and multiple of each size. this 119 was the poorest one of all the ones I bought, I bought some of the others at the Bass pro store and looked over before buying, this one has large dark stress lines? probably not a major problem , and I know each knife has its own characteristics, but this is not one that I would have bought if I had bought it in a store, nor do I think it should have been sent to me via on line purchase. still they are great beautiful knives.

Lower Quality Than Expected
I collect Buck knives. I purchased this expecting the usual Buck quality. I was disappointed. The handle had what I call flaws. It had a large wide crack along one side and several small cracks in the bone handle. The blade also had a series of nicks along the top flat side of the tang. Seemed to be a low factory 2nd quality. The overall weight of the knife is light but this is from the light weight of the bone.

The fit, polish, and feel of this knife is second to none. It was made by Buck, what can I say?

Beautiful heirloom knife!
I bought this purely for beauty of it. I'm sure it would work just fine for hunting and woodcraft tasks, although I imagine the smooth bone handle would be slippery when wet with rain or blood. The sheath is very nice also. Made in the U.S.A.!
