Got this knife on sale and was pretty excited about it. The knife however didn't live up to my expectations. The blade doesn't get or hold an edge very well and the knife feels pretty cumbersome in my hand.
The knife does its job fairly well though and hasn't broken after a good bit of use.
In the $30-40 range there are much better knives to buy

Rated 3 out of 5Â by bobby072 Very Different Feel
I own alot of knives and many are Buck knives. I am very happy with most, but this knife was a little dissapointing in that it does not feel secure in my hand. I don't know if it is me or the grip, and I have trouble keeping the blade sharp which is a little bulky as well. I think the quality is there, but if you are going to purchase this one I would hold it first and see how it fits your hand.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by BenG great knife!
i have this knife, and absolutely love it. hold a great edge, and is comfortable in my hand.
another great plus is that its already VERY sharp right out of the box, unlike many knives i have owned in the past.

Fixed blades are much easier to clean than folding knives because folding blade channel collects blood, tissue, etc. However, this would be a good option.
