I bought this knife thinking I was really getting something but after skinning one deer with it the blade became dull so I would say find a different brand of knife with better blade material.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Shady79 Good skinning knife and excellent scorpion killer
Knife worked well on the first deer I cleaned with it. Had to touch up the edge only once. Met a scorpion face to face in my tree climber, figured using my Judge may have been over kill so I hastily accessed my new buck knife due to its convenient sheath and effortlessly made two parts out of my enemy. It may not have saved my life but it saved me from crying like a little girl. Thanks Buck for making a capable blade.

This is a great knife. It is great for skinning dear which is what I think it is meant for. But it is also good for cutting up fish. It is not only good for that but it is good for all around camping. I used it to cut rope and I used it for genral camping chores.
I would highly reccomend it.
