An American Classic
For so many of us the Woodsman was our first serious knife. These knives are still made with pride in the USA and are constructed with quality materials.
The size is large enough for most outdoor uses yet this fixed blade knife is small enough to wear on your belt on the trail without getting a second look by passing hikers.
The high carbon blade takes an edge very well with proper sharpening and also holds its sharpness very well after numerous grueling uses.
This is still may favorite knife and the blade design is perfect for a variety of uses. This knife is capable of "batoning" small logs yet also making delicate cuts.
Buck stands behind this knife and continues to make the Woodsman right here in the USA.

Perfect small game hunting knife!
I hunted small game in Iowa for years and this was my primary carry knife. I usually cleaned my game on the spot and this knife perfect for that. It always held an edge from handle to tip and was perfectly balanced. The blade never showed any signs of corrosion in over thirty years of ownership. The only thing that wish had been different was the texture of the handle. It was kind of a slippery grip if it got wet. I never used it anywhere that it wouldn't be easy to recover if I dropped it. I've misplaced the knife recently and I'm highly aggravated. If it doesn't turn up soon I may have to buy another. I have another brand of knife of similar size that is a fairly good quality but it just isn't same as my Buck 102.

I used my brothers knife to gut 3 deer opening day this past saturday with this knife. It didnt dull out at all and nothing stuck to the blade. I dont have to sharpen it or do anything to it. Great Knife. It comes razor sharp and will stay that way for a long time of hard use.

Great Field Knife
This little "Woodsman" knife is typical of all "Buck" knifes, in that it is of excellent steel that hold an edge and is finished to mirror polish. The short fixed blade is sharp and easy to handle.
The case is somewhat lacking, it does not feel like real leather, but is stiff vinyl.
