Great Knife; Best to Own
My father purchased this knife for me when I turned age 12 years, back in 1961, to use when we went hunting and camping. I also served in the military for over 23 years and used this knife when deployed overseas. I have had this knife for almost 50 years and the only exception is replacing the sheath about once every 15 years. I am pleased to see that Buck still manufactures these styles of knives and I wish them continued success (P.S.: I also purchased the same knife for my two kids, Jeff in 1982 and Stevyn in 1997. Needless to say, they are still using it as well).

I was using a friend's buck knife and just had to get one myself. Holds a razor edge. This is one tough and durable knife. Comes with a heavy duty leather sheath. Absolutely no complaints.

This knife is a great buy for both price and performance. It holds its edge extremely well and is good looking too. I would strongly recomend this to other outdoorsmen.

Good multipurpose blade
I give it 4 stars only because I've had it for only one year, so I don't know how it will hold up over time. I have the black phenolic handle, which I wasn't sure about because it seems like it might get slick when wet. No problems with that yet, however. The blade comes razor sharp and holds its edge well. It's a well-made knife with a perfectly sized blade: big enough for tough jobs but not so big as to be clumsy or useless for finer cutting.

I have been carrying this knife since 1963, to include several combat tours in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. I still use this knife for all my outdoor needs. The only problem is that the Sheath usually wears out in about 15 years. Wouldn't trade it for any other knife!
