It's almost exactly like the one I had in Boy Scouts. That was a Silva, with the BSA logo. This one is a replacement for that one, which is somewhere inside my parents house. I want to have one around to start teaching my sons who are now in scouting.
I can't vouch for it's durability, but other than crushing it, or freezing and thawing, not much can go wrong. It does everything you need for basic orienteering. If I was constantly using a compass, I would go for a lensatic or sighting mirror one. Silva and Brunton are the only two companies that make decent, reliable consumer-grade compasses.
