This Browning X-Bolt rifle's most prominent traits—beyond being a Browning product—are the durable composite stock with Dura Touch® Armor coating over the black finish and the innovative X-Bolt action design. Additionally, to increase accuracy, the free-floated barrel is button rifled and has a recessed crown on the muzzle. The action is drilled and tapped on the top for placement of special X-Lock scope bases. The Feather trigger is adjustable and partners with a 60-degree bolt lift to ensure smooth firing and reloading. A bolt-unlock feature permits opening the bolt and unchambering a round without disengaging the safety. A detachable rotary magazine keeps the next round ready to go. The barrel and action of this Browning rifle are blued so the overall rifle does not emit game spooking glare. This rifle was designed with the discriminating big game hunter in mind. The rifle comes with sling swivel studs installed.

I have a X Bolt composite in 308. This is a great gun. I have owned all sorts and brands of rifles over the years but I keep coming back to Browning. This will keep a three shot group in a 1 inch square using Winchester Power Max 150 grain ammo all day long. Power Max usually don't group well but this rifle has changed that.I have shoot two deer with it this year and love it. The gun feels good in my hands. The trigger is great. I love the 60 degree bolt throw. This really helps when you have a larger scope mounted. The x bolt scope mounts work great. Very strong. I have owned several A Bolts and I would take the X Bolt over the A Bolt any day.

I bought the gun about two months ago for an Elk trip to Montana. Since then I have put about 120 rounds through it. This is a nice gun. The action is smooth and the trigger is one of the best I have ever experienced. I have it matched with a Nikon Monarch 3, 2.5X10X50 with the BDC. This seems like the perfect combination. I have the gun zeroed at 200 yrds and consistently hit the the bull's eye at 300 and 400 yards no mater which type of ammo I am shooting. I have not tried further out because I don't have a range than long. The butt plate pad is great, with very manageable recoil from a 7mm Mag. This is my first Browning, but it will not be my last. I love this gun and would highly recommend it.
