The Story of the Beatty Buck
Mike Beatty arrowed the Pope & Young 294-point world record buck just before dark on November 8th, 2000 in Greene County, Ohio. It was a good hit, with a good blood trail, but after 250 yards of tracking, he decided he was pushing the deer—so he retired until morning. During the night, a heavy rainstorm passed over as he lay wide awake. The next morning, he and his 10 year old son, Andrew, picked up the trail—and Andrew spotted the buck almost immediately, just 30 yards from where Mike had stopped looking. This was Mike’s proudest moment—seeing the joy in his son’s eyes when he found the remarkable trophy that November morning.

This safe is made by Browning/Prosteel and is branded under the Redhead product line. I am extremely pleased with the quality and workmanship. Small things like carpet lining on both sides of all shelves, the forming of the steel in a complete channel around the frame where the door closes, and top notch hinges sets this safe apart from others in the same price range. This would be in the $1500-$1700 range if it were branded a Browning. The S&G combination lock is very nice quality and works great. Keypad locks may be convenient but with this kind of investment, I want something that will last.

This has redhead emblem on it but is a browning safe made by prosteel. Caught this one on sale at store for 999, signed up for a credit card and got 10% off of that so I`m extremely happy with the price. But this safe has the nicer door organizer with full size guns on the door. Saw another safe with the nylon stitched on pistol holders and 2 of them were torn off already. With just 300 more dollars I can store more guns, 15 more mins on fire rating, have a better looking safe than the other redheads that are not Browning safes and also pay alot less for this one than the other Browning safes just because it has a Redhead emblem instead of Browning but does have Browning on the inside door organizer. Now Im just ready to fill it up.
