I was somewhat skeptical of this little combo at first glance, but my brother talked me into buying one and I am very glad he recommended it.
The rod is very well made. Its sensitive, much tougher than it looks, and extremely light. The reel is quite smooth, pretty light, and the EVA foam grip on the handle is a cool little feature. The rig cast like a rifle, is light as a feather, and one heck of a bargain at $40. I've seen lesser combos for twice the price of this bad boy.
My only complaint is...I wish it had a hook keeper somewhere near the base of the rod near the reel. But, that is very minor thing I'm more than willing to let slide.
It looks pretty good, feels very good, and works extremely good. Overall, this is an awesome combo and if you love fishing with ultra-light tackle this combo is a must have!

I bought this about a week ago.The rod is light and very sensitive. If you get span sized fish on, you would think there was a ten pounder at the end of your line. The reel is a gem to use...very smooth and quiet. Try using two pound test like I did,you will have a blast.

im not a fan of combos usualy but my sister wanted a set up for her bday. i picked this up today on sale for 39$ rod is well made and the reel is better than most combo set ups. this set up could be better could be worse but ill tell you this. its worth double what they are charging for it at 39 bucks. it has the new school rod butt wich im not quite used to but its for her and she doesnt know any better. she really liked it when i showed it to her. ill write a more in depth review after we get the line wet.
