Perfect I live in PHX and the local lakes abound in huge crappie, bluegill and yellow bass. When drifting jigs and or live bait, can not be beat. Also common to catch several 3-5 lb bass and bigger over the course of the day...no worries, the backbone this supplies is ample June 16, 2008
Pefect for intened use. These rods are perfect for the FloatnFly system of light line, long light action rods, a float, and a small jig fished in cold water during the winter. They have the backbone needed to set the hook and enough tip to wear down a big smallmouth bass. March 14, 2011
Great Rod, But... I use this rod for mostly "float" fishing with a center pin reel and #4 line. Everything works great, the only problem is thats it a 2 pieces rod, ( so it can be hard to out into the car at the end of the day). Better it be a 4 piece. September 4, 2012
Not quite what i expected Thought action on rod would be better compared to my other noodle rods action not as light decent rod but should of did a little more reseach on it before purchasing April 28, 2014

With the length of the rod, the extra long foregrip allows more area and option to find your leverage point when fighting a fish, with center pin or spinning reel.
At least that's my reasoning behind its design.
