Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Value, Handles like a Ferrari After extensive research, and owning 12 other rods over the years, I purchased a 7 foot, medium heavy, trigger style Browning Safari Travel Rod (choice based on price for quality which met my specs). It arrived here in the Arctic last week, was paired with an Abu Garcia Revo Inshore baitcast reel, and put to work stalking Arctic char. This rod casts like a dream and simply smiled at landing an 8.5 lb char and many more in the 4 to 6 lb range with tons of backbone to spare. It's a good looking rod by all accounts but more importantly it performed to my total expectations particularly with the joints staying tight with high torque casts in cold weather. The cordura tube it arrived in was nicked upon arival which was a disappointing and the rod sock inside could be higher quality but with respect to the rod itself, I got everything I paid for and am pleased with the purchase. Great rod for the money. July 29, 2010

Rated 5 out of 5 by Browning Travel Rods These rods are a great alternative to traveling with a full-sized rod carrying tube. They perform as well as a one piece rod. Outstanding. It's even small enough for airline carry-on. March 26, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by exactly as advertised The best compliment you can give this rod is that it is exactly what you'd expect from a graphite rod for it's listed length and action. This wouldn't say much except it's obvioulsy a 3 piece travel rod. It fishes like a one piece with no issue whatsoever with the connections and I have no problems with the guides becoming misaligned during use or things like that. The rod has a nice feel and action (feels like about a $60 or $70 one piece, which is a complment for a travel rod). I would have no issue using this for an extra rod on a normal day's fishing. My one complaint is the cheap reel seat. Otherwise totally top notch. November 30, 2009
