I bought this rod because my son does not enjoy fly fishing. We both have to get on a plane to fish together so this made a great travel rod.

I haven't been able to use this rod yet but it will be great for lots of applicaitons, I have a medium heavy rod but it was too stiff for many applications this one should be a great fit.

I purchased this rod to use in Alaska fishing for red, silver and pink salmon. I mate the rod with a Garcia bait casting reel and use 17-20 lb mono line. It can handle 8-15 lb salmon in the fast moning waters of the Keni River. The case it came in also holds my 4 piece 9ft., 8 weight fly rod that I use to do the "Keni Flip" when fishing for Reds.

No problems with the rod, I like what I finally got. Originally I ordered the wrong rod and decided after receiving that I really needed the smaller, less stiff version. I did not have time to return the original then receive the replacement before leaving on a trip. I called up Bass Pro ordered and paid for the right rod then sent the original back for credit. Bass Pro paid for the shipping and I received credit in a prompt fashion. It was an easy and painless transaction.
