Rated 4 out of 5Â by fish156 Very nice, but heavy
I use these a lot in salt water mud flats, in waders.
So, I need a tether. Check. A good side cutter. Check. And good needle nose for cinching up knots, difficult hook removals, and crushing barbs - and I crush all my barbs. Check. These cutters do all of these jobs in a fine fashion, and since they are stainless/titanium rust should not be a problem (but I do believe the steel belt clip is going to rust - we'll see). The case and latching velcro are very nice.
It's all good, but these pliers are pretty heavy.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by krak pretty crummy tether
I only bought the tether to use on another pair of pliers that i have. I ordered it online or i would not have bought it. The clips are pretty nice but the plastic tether part wraps through the clip and is very poorly melted to itself. it is absolutely ridiculous and i am upset that i paid $7 bucks for it. I spend a lot of money at Bass Pro and this is the first time i have been truly disappointed. lucky for Bass Pro Shops im loyal and have a serious fishing obsession.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by pshooks good pliers, mediocre cutter
I've had these pliers for 5 yeas and have used them a lot. They've stood up well to salt water without shoeing any signs of rust and the springs still work flawlessly. The original cutters lasted me two years but the subsequent replacement cutters get dull after a few uses. Otherwise 5 stars.

I have plenty of fancy, shiny and cool looking pliers, but always return to these for the cleanest and most sure cut.

i reviewed these in August 2008. I'm back now because I just replaced the blades on one pair as they stopped cutting thin powerpro easily. The replacement blades made it like new again. I use exclusively in salt water. I wash after use and spray a little Boeshield in the sheath before putting away. The replacment blades came out OK but I tapped them with a hammer first and put a little boeshield on them to before I tried with the supplied allen wrench.Images for this Answer

just watch your screws on the cutters.A:Â
Yes, just wash and let dry. You may want to coat with an oil like WD40.A:Â
The pliers are not going to rust, but the steel belt clip probably will.A:Â
Yes. just rinse in fresh water.A:Â
I fish only salt. I don't take care of my pliers. Little screws that hold cutter rusted and after 4 years spring (internal) broke. Otherwise they held up awesome. If you rinsed them, they would last a long timeA:Â
Thats the only place I use them and have found them to work GREAT!A:Â
Just clean well after saltwater use & replace blades every other season.A:Â
Like any other "stainless" product, some maintenance and care is required. After use in Salt Water, just rinse in fresh water and spray liberally with WD-40A:Â
These pliers are not titanium...they are titanium coated stainless steel. They will eventually corrode if not kept clean and lubricated, but that is easy to do. If used in salt water, rinse thoroughly with fresh water, dry completely, and spray with a silicone spray and they should last practically forever, or until you lose them.1 of 1
