This exciting Browning® Fishing Midas Spinning Reel raises the bar for spinning reel technology…the frame, sidecovers, and rotor are all crafted from Carbonite, an advanced carbon fiber material that’s as light as magnesium, as strong as aluminum, and 100% corrosion-proof! Together with the hard brass pinion gear and zinc alloy drive gear, that gives you a finely balanced reel with incredible structural rigidity, assuring long-term precision operation. You’ll fish with confidence, knowing the internals are tight and smooth, the fatigue factor is greatly reduced, and the performance features represent the top of the Browning line. The spool is forged aluminum, ported to reduce weight, with a line-saving titanium nitride coated lip. Features include a stainless steel bail wire, machined low-profile handle, quality 10-bearing system, Powerlock™ instant anti-reverse, and smooth multi-stack stainless/fiber front drag system. Includes FREE forged aluminum spare spool.

This reel is super smooth and a great ratio for rubber worm fishing IMO. The drag is great. No problems with good sized largemouth. I have yet to have the bail pop up on me during retrieve or notice any quality concerns, The real is light and when matched to the Browning Hi-Power rod it is a fantastic comb that I would put against any thing in its price range or perhaps a good bit higher. I did purchase the reel in-store and had the chance to test 2 different one. One did feel better to me and I purchased that one.

I just took this on a four day backpacking trip, new out of the box. Stupid me, I didn't test it before I left. It was missing some sort of busing between the handle attachment screw and the body. The handle ground against the body until I put a split ring washer between the screw and reel body.
Then, I tripped. I went to make a cast and the reel would not turn. I could see zero damage on the exterior of the reel where I might have banged it. I took the cover off and 1/3 of the worm gear had broken off. It's not a solid piece of brass, but hollow. I took the broken chunk out and was still able to use the reel, just with a grinding noise.
Then, I tripped again the next day (I was getting over an ear infection) and I guess bumped the reel again. This time the whole worm gear came apart. Reel was toast and I'm 15 miles from the trailhead.
I've dropped/bumped reels from Shimano/Daiwa and never had this problem in 30+ years of fishing.
These are not built well. Avoid.

As has been said in some of the other reviews, the bail on this reel will flip up when try to reel in. I wish I'd listened to those people, this one is going into the trash.
