  • Aramid/duralumin drag disc stack
  • Titanium Nitride plated line guide

Beneath the sleek matte black exterior of the Browning Midas casting reel lies a precision fish catching machine. High-tensile brass pinion and drive gears power the aluminum spool, and silky-smooth operation is facilitated by 8 premium bearings including the legendary Powerlock instant anti-reverse. The machined aluminum frame is flanked by super-lightweight graphite sideplates (with the Browning Buckmark on the left), and the Dual Braking System utilizes both centrifugal and magnetic cast control to let you pinpoint a landing sight and drop your lure like a feather—with virtually no overruns. Other advantages include a smooth yet powerful stack of duralumin and aramid fiber drag discs and a hard-working recurved aluminum handle with EVA knobs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great reel. Bought for myself. My son took it over after using it on a recent fishing trip. He liked it so much that is all he uses now. He has 2 of each gear ratios so he is set and ready to go. For any type of fishing at a moments notice. 6.8 oz he really likes the weight. He was using one that weighted 8.1 oz. his arm was killing him. Casts a ton, smooth, sleek and just a great reel. September 2, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Complete junk This reel clicks under any load such as a spinnerbait or just a small fish. This is the third one, so it's not just chance. I have been using browning reels for over 20 years...they have gone to junk...last one I will ever buy. Complete garbage! August 8, 2014

I would stick to mono or braid on this one. I had problems with fluoro on this reel and I am very experienced with bait casters.

Yes you can use 30ld braid, this is also the heaviest braid you and put on it. I personally have 20ld power pro and it does great for fresh and saltwater with a 30ld mono leader.

This reel is not designed for use with braided line. It is designed for use with 12 pound monofilament. You could probably use 14 pound, but would not be able to get as much on the spool.
