Purchased this rod for jerkbaits. The super-short grip is perfect for fishing with jerkbaits. Rod is well balanced and well built. Best value for the money.

I have had this rod for about 3months now and I have loved every minute I have used it. I have the trigger 6'10 MH paired up with a Quantum PT Energy reel and it makes a great combo. When I go out on the lake I find myself going back to this rod over some of the more expensive ones in the boat. It has a great feel and alot of back bone. And not to forget the price. To me when you're trying to save some money this rod is the ticket. I have nothing negative to say about this rod.

It retracts above the handle. The rod blank slides down into the handle to shorten the rod down to a little over 6'Details:Â

I have this rod and my Dad has the BPS Extreme. I found this rod to be more sensitive.Top 250 Contributor

I switched back and forth between these two all day a couple of weeks ago and there's not a major difference in sensitivity to me, but the BPS extreme is a little more. I prefer the extreme over the browning but either way you can't go wrong.Answers

Yes. I use Spiderwire Stealth 50lb with this rod. No problems.A:Â
I assume that you're concerned about guide wear. These rods will indeed handle braid, and you will most likely NEVER experience guide wear with Fuji aluminum oxide guides when targeting freshwater species like bass or walleye. That being said, many anglers will tell you to go with a rod equipped with SiC Rings if you know your rod will be handling braided lines. This is because Fuji SiC rings are twice as hard as aluminum oxide, making them more abrasion resistant. Again, though, I hear a lot more talk about super lines cutting and wearing guides than I’ve actually ever seen. In fact, the only guides I've ever seen cut by braids were on extremely cheap rods. Hope this helps.1 of 1
