Wherever you find fishable water, you'll find a reason to put this dependable rod to the test. Every model is strong and sure, with time-honored actions throughout the line. Now laced with boron, the Medallion offers a level of sensitivity unmatched by other rods in its class. Its 40 million boron/graphite matrix blank offers excellent "feel" at the tip with plenty of power to the butt, with aluminum oxide guides, a graphite exposed-blank reel seat, a multi-purpose lure keeper, and premium cork handle.
Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Rod I paired this rod with a Bass Pro Qualifer and it is an awsome combo. Great feel, sensitive, and excellent quality. April 22, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Value Purchased this rod for jerkbaits. The super-short grip is perfect for fishing with jerkbaits. Rod is well balanced and well built. Best value for the money. October 11, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Purchase for the money This rod is very well balanced and has great sensitivity. It is a great looking rod with an excellent finish and the cork handle is very nice. Great Rod August 16, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Rod I have had this rod for about 3months now and I have loved every minute I have used it. I have the trigger 6'10 MH paired up with a Quantum PT Energy reel and it makes a great combo. When I go out on the lake I find myself going back to this rod over some of the more expensive ones in the boat. It has a great feel and alot of back bone. And not to forget the price. To me when you're trying to save some money this rod is the ticket. I have nothing negative to say about this rod. August 16, 2010

It retracts above the handle. The rod blank slides down into the handle to shorten the rod down to a little over 6'

I switched back and forth between these two all day a couple of weeks ago and there's not a major difference in sensitivity to me, but the BPS extreme is a little more. I prefer the extreme over the browning but either way you can't go wrong.

I assume that you're concerned about guide wear. These rods will indeed handle braid, and you will most likely NEVER experience guide wear with Fuji aluminum oxide guides when targeting freshwater species like bass or walleye. That being said, many anglers will tell you to go with a rod equipped with SiC Rings if you know your rod will be handling braided lines. This is because Fuji SiC rings are twice as hard as aluminum oxide, making them more abrasion resistant. Again, though, I hear a lot more talk about super lines cutting and wearing guides than I’ve actually ever seen. In fact, the only guides I've ever seen cut by braids were on extremely cheap rods. Hope this helps.
