I purchased the 6'3" XH jerkbait rod which is marked "1/2-2 ounces" on the BPS website. I purchased it to fish those jerkbaits that are too much for a bass jerkbait rod and too light for the typical pool cue you'd fish the big ones on. After getting the rod in the mail before I even looked at the ratings on the blank I could feel it was too much. The rod is actually marked "5/8-4". If you want a pool cue to fish the bigger jerks this is a decent rod but it's not what it says on the website. As others have said, this rod does not have an exposed blank at the handle.

Well, the first fish I caught on this rod was a 58 lb blue cat... And it held up just fine... its a tough, well-built rod...

Beefy strong rod for a great price. Well built, good looking and comfortable to fish with all day. Does not have blank through handle as listed in the description though.

I would like to pair one of these rods with the calcutta 400b but I don't know which rod I should get. I held both in the store and I think the browning rod was more comfortable (It's lighter weight and I like the handle and grip better). However, what I like better about the the Compre is that it comes in eight foot. Which would most likely work better?Answers

Each Angler will have a preference over one rod then the other. Your best bet is to stick with what feels comfortable and you will be able to handle.Bass Pro Shops offers a "no hassle" return policy.
