I like these Pliers alot I use them for fresh water fishing. they pliers them self are not that high qulity. but with that said they have put up with 3 years of abuse and i mean massive abuse. but my 10 doller pliers i bought at the hardwear are 20 times better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FLFishingMate Excellent Pliers
I purchased a set of these pliers 19 months ago and used them on average 5 to 6 days a week since then working on charter and head boats in Florida. Other mates tried other brands, but everyone would end up with these. Unfortunately this afternoon I dropped mine overboard - first time for everything right? But there was no doubt I was going to replace them with the same ones. The cutters do have a small area that doesn't cut at the very bottom. And if you plan on replacing the cutter blades, make sure you keep up on not letting the screws get rusty, because the small hex head strips out somewhat easy once rusted. The pliers don't close "completely" together (but that is so the cutters work properly) but its close enough to grip 50# mono. But a great set of pliers. Once a month I'd scrub them down and oil them. Screw heads on the replaceable cutters were the only spot to rust, and these were in/around salt water everyday. Spring open design still worked too after literally at least 10,000 cycles (and possibly double that - I didn't keep track).

The case is clip on, no belt required. The clip on the back of the case is metal, and I like to clip it either to my waist band or the inside of my pocket, or I'm sure that you could clip it on to a belt
the cutter blades are very hard and I think brittle, have cracked some before, more usefull for cutting line and mono leaders.Put a 8/0 gamagatsu circle hook through my finger no pliers we had onboard would cut it. I don't think they were intended to cut hooks.
I have yet to try this, but the cutters seem to slice through any line I have including 20 lb mono and braid with no problem at all. I would think it could cut some of the more slim hooks with no problem, obviously no superline hooks, but in any case, the replacement blades are only 5$ I think.
