Monster fish won’t stand a chance against the powerful Browning® Aggressor baitcast reel. Inside a rock-solid but lightweight all-aluminum frame you'll find high-tensile brass drive and pinion gears controlling the V-shaped, forged anodized aluminum spool. The Dual Braking System effectively controls the cast from launch to landing, and the 10 bearing system including PowerLock™ instant anti reverse provides enduring smoothness. The aluminum/aramid fiber drag stack puts out 12 lbs. of drag power, and the Recurved aluminum handle provides lots of cranking power. Graphite side covers; 6.4:1 gear ratio.

Browning Aggressor Baitcasting Reel 4.8 5 9 9
Outstanding Reel This is the first Browning reel I have owned. I have had several other baitcast reels and have had issues getting them set and not backlashing. I have had this reel for almost a year now and as soon as I opened this and put string on it I have not backlashed again. I am planning on buying another one to replace the ones I have. The reel is smooth on cast and retrieve. December 10, 2014
WOW, What a surprise As mentioned below, I didn't know what to expect as I had never had a Browning Reel in my hands. This little reel looks and feels like a quality piece of equipment. I ordered a new Johnny Morris 7'6" MH CarbonLite rod to compliment this reel and spooled it with 17 lb XPS Fluorocarbon and adjusted the drag to a swim bait and this combo just feels right in your hands. Compared to my other 25 bait casters in my arsenal, this combo ranks up there with the best. Cannot wait to take it out on the water. If in doubt, I highly recommend you buy it. For the price, you will not be disappointed. December 9, 2014
Smooth fishing I APPRECIATE THE SMOOTHNESS OF THE REEL AND THE FEEL OF IT IN YOUR HANDS. THIS IS A QUALITY REEL AT BARGAIN SALE PRICE. November 10, 2014
First Browning I didn't know what to expect because I've never owned a Browning or haven't talked to anyone who has used one. I bought this because of the special price. So far I've been impressed with everything about the reel, size, smoothness, drag, castability. This would be a good reel for the price for first timers with a bait caster. July 29, 2014

A:
Type of rod to use depends largely on how you intend to fish it. Crank baits, Flipping, Swim Baits all require specific rods to maximize your efficiency for a specific species. I took advantage off the great sales at BPS and purchased a Johnny Morris 7"6" MH Carbonlite rod for this reel. Feels right and is well balanced. Tight lines and hope this helps.

I prefer a 6 - 6.5 foot rod with lite or ultra lite flexibility. You may use what ever is comfortable to you.

Hi, the Browning® Aggressor Baitcasting Reel should be paired to a Casting Rod: http://www.basspro.com/Fishing-Fishing-Rods-Casting-Rods/_/N-1z0uxb2?cm_sp=FsRdEPCstApr2014_ENLT, which you would want to narrow your search by length, power, price, and species. Thank You!

The picture from the left side shows a small screw where the lube port screw is located on the Pro Qualifier. Is this for the lube port cover?

Have not seen one, however the side plate is easily removed for lubing. Accompanied instruction sheet provides servicing and setup instructions.

Hi, the Browning® Aggressor Baitcasting Reel is a freshwater reel. However, if you do expose this reel to saltwater the spool should be removed and the entire reel rinsed in freshwater. Dry with a soft cloth and lubricate the reel. Thanks
