I don't know why I didn't buy this product sooner. I have had a Brinkman smoker for over 20 years and have used it almost every week. I finally decided I need a thermometer so I purchased this one. The face is large and easy to read and it looks good on the smoker. The only problem is that it only reads to 500 and when you are grilling on the smoker the temps go way over 500. I recommend this to anyone who has a smoker.

it does fit into most all bbq pits/smokers with a 3/4" hole. it works great for maintaining tempreture for smoking meats or just plain bbq.

I bought two of these as additional thermometers for my Brinkman smoker.
I installed one just above the wood chamber to keep an eye on the heat temps, and I installed the other one just near the top of the smoker body right below the lid, to keep and eye on the temps near the water pan and the lower grill grate.
All you need to do is drill the right sized hole through the smoker and install the thermometer with the hardware that comes with it. Very easy to do, and they allow me to better gauge my temperatures and cooking times. This is important when cooking in cooler temperatures. They work great!
