I own a large 80# class braid belt - great for standup 50# plus fish. Unfortunately it is too bulky for day to day bottom fishing.
I bought the Braid Hip Pad to try and ease the pain in the gut when hooking good size bottom fish.
Unfortunately the receiver simply doesn't stay in place - wails all over even when wearing a belt. Secondly there is no "cross bar" to fit into the bottom of a rod. As a result even when you do get the rod in the holder and the holder doesn't move then the rod butt just jumps out.
I am going to try to get a refund from Basspro - as it was used just once I hope they will do it.

I bought this to prevent the butt end of the fishing pole stabing you in the groin and leaving black and blue marks that you may have to explain to someone. I used it once and it sort of works. It is hard to keep it in place while you are fighting a fast moving fish. It is hard to hang off your belt using the plastic clip because the plastic is to stiff. You must use it with a seperate belt or push your belt through before you have a fish on.
