It takes a little bit to fine tune it to your specific needs and I am still figuring it out, but so far, it's great for its class. August 12, 2008

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hookum Treasure I recently purchased the Camo LS metal detector at the Hampton, VA. store. I have spent several hours at the local soccer field and have found some very nice treasures. This item works just like it says on the box! That's hard to find on many things. It tells you exactly what's there before you dig, it's amazing. After seeing it and trying it now my wife wants one. November 6, 2007

Will it detect precious metals?

Details:

Will this detector pick up precious metal such as flakes of gold? We are getting a metal detector for our son for Christmas and he likes to pan for gold when we go on vacation.
