Rated 5 out of 5 by Dustyone New Protein Feeder
Just purchased and set up a new Boss Buck 350 lb protein feeder. Super easy for one guy to assemble and set up. Bass Pro didn't carry the feet/stake kit, so I ordered them directly from Boss Buck. Easy to fill standing on the ground, but I generally use a step ladder as I like to blend in a mix of feeds. Gravity flow is super smooth, and the lip at the end of the tube prevents spillage. I got the multiple height leg kit so I can convert it to a spin feeder later in the season if I want to.Seemed a little wobbly at first until I got some feed into it, then it locked down tight. The lid mechanism works great. There were several wind advisories out in W TX where I set it up (up to 50 mph straight line winds) and it's still standing! Biggest positive is that I have 5000 photos on the trail cam, and the raccoons seem to stay on the ground - no climbing up on the feeder and scooping out the feed. It may be that they're intimidated by the deer, who hover around the feeder constantly.
Overall, I am very pleased with the feeder. Too early to tell on durability, but it's built solidly. My only recommendation to the rest of my hunting group would be to get the next larger size, as the deer just rip through the feed!

This is a top of the line feeder with a low price. Couldn't be happier with my purchase! Very dependable and easy to move around when I want.

I bought two of these feeders when they first came out. I take my feeders in at the end of march and put them out in Sept. I have the big timers and they hang from drill stem pipe I built and set in the ground. Two problems I have had are the paint flaking off of the timers and squirrels eating through the top and side of the feeder body. The timers last all season on a single battery charge and are very dependable. The feeder is easy to load on the double pulley crank system I made.

I just picked up my protein feeder from bass pro and I am very impressed with the design and materials used. Very easy to assemble and solid. Should have bought one sooner.
