Top water frog is the way to go, watch this thing disappear underwater. The feet kick and splash, it puts the fish in a frenzy.

I had literally never fished a frog until today. I picked up 2 of these and finally tied one on, as here in Ohio bass have been smashing my dog-walked topwaters. I decided to give the 'ol frog a try, and boy am glad I did! On my third cast, a fat female destroyed it, and this on a cloudy day around noon in open water. Hooks set great, double points in the roof of her mouth. After switching to a jig for a bit, threw the frog again and 5 minutes later, BAM. Again, open water with both hooks in. I've always heard horror stories about missing fish on frogs, but I'm 2 for 2 with the Booyah! Great value and gets the job done. Gave 4/5 because of water drainage, as the holes in the back didn't do a good job of getting the water out. Had to give it a squeeze every few casts to push the water out.

if its braid yes mono no.iam just getting into frog fishing more and i went to a bait castor with a medium rod .i usually fish with a spinning reel with a medium rod with mono and have lost some nice bass .i am switching spinning reels tofluoro carbon.bait castor with braidto handle the heavy stuffA:

i use 30# braid and a 7'6" flipping set up. i fish these frogs in heavy cover. have had to really pull a few of the bass out once they swallowed the frog. i wouldnt go that light with the line for cover.A:
U could use it but good chance u gonna lose frog because of break off if ur in the slop I use 50-65 lb braid

You could, but with the action I get, I'd break a line if using that low weight. I'd recommend no smaller than 10 pound test.

Could you....Yes. Should you....No. Frogs generally are used to fish some pretty narly cover such as lilly pads and grass. When a fish hits it will take the lure back down in a hurry and wraps the line around everything it can. For that reason it helps to have line with very little stretch and with the power to pull them right out of the cover. For that reason braid is the perfect choice for Frog Fishing. It is very strong and does not stretch and you can get high lb. test in very thin line. Plus it floats which even helps more. I would go with braid with atleaste 24 lb but if you're in an area with big fish go with 50 lb.A:

No they are very durable, so you will be able to catch a lot of big fish on them.

Without bustin out the tape measure, the frog is around 2-2/12 inches and the legs are double that so you can trim to what you need. I fished thick lilly pads and landed 10+ fish( not counting the ones that didnt get the hook) in just a few hours. Durability is fantastic!A:

Fish can see farther through the water than humans; with that being said, then the color of the frog does matter. Just like matching a crank bait to the local bait fish in the body of water you fish in, you would want to get a frog bait that looks as much like the local frog population as possible.A:
If you fish slow and leave it sitting for a while they see a little of the top too. If you fish fast the fish don't care its all instincts at that pointA:
Most of the real frogs out there have white bellies and that is what your trying to imitate.I usually will toss black or darker frogs in really murky water anyways.
When the water is clear I toss the more natural looking frogs because the fish will have a longer time to view the lure from a distance.
Experiment and give them what they want to eat.

i have caught fish on different frog colors.i dont think color matter too much as long as you walk the dog with the frog.
of course, the only time the color would mater is on water clarity. just my .02

Game fish Depending on the level of energy, will approach a lure or bait fish by, Head ramming on prey.If you've ever hooked a fish on the out side of the head, most the time that's the case. Most fish have that white under belly of course, but its is also important to have added colors of prey Your favorite game fish eat ,so that there is no hesitance in attack. you can usually see hesitance when a fish is moving and stopping almost the same way the lure your using, as if it was tailgating because something might be off about the coloration of the lure.hope i was of any help

It does matter a little depending on the conditions outside. Mainly cloud cover. Not all frogs have the white belly. Depends on the area that you are in. I recomend any frog with a white or black belly. They strike on the action not so much on color. If you want to be safe there is a Spro frog that looks like a penguin. That works great.Answers

The hook come out the bottom of the body and splits into 2 that go next to the tail parts. When a fish bites the body is pushed down and the hooks are revealed, after catching one you usually have to push the hooks back into the body.A:
