NOT stainless steel
They are advertised as chrome-plated stainless steel construction, and that is what is printed on their packaging. That's why I purchased them. On my first day of Grouper fishing with them, rust was forming on them before I even got back to the dock. The design of mine (11.5" model) is perfect, and exactly as I needed, but the quality is JUNK for saltwater fishing.

I purchased this pair of Pliers twice now. They are the only pliers that actully grip and grab everytime. They never slip when reaching deep down a throut to pull a hook. Best purchase ever.

These are great pliers. The angle makes it easy to get hooks out wihout your hand being between your eyes & the hook.

I have worked with good hand tools for over thirty years and these are not them. "Chrome-plated stainless steel construction Non-slip grips" They must be ultra low grade stainless because they rust really bad (9 mos.). The grips slide off the finger lever when pressure is applied due to the lever angle, but don't worry, after they rust it will stay on. The spring rusted away - gone! The leverage is not as good as claimed and has a hard time removing hook from grouper. If you glue on the grips, wash and oil after every use, they may be OK.
