Birthday Gift Goin' Great My eleven year old son got this lure for his birthday, then promptly used it to catch a citation-sized northern pike three days later on his first trip out. That trip was yesterday...we have added a second one to the box for tomorrow. August 26, 2010
Not for me I do most of my saltwater fishing in maine on muscongus and penobscott bay. I've never caught anything on this lure but my uncle caught lots of stripers and blues on it. I'm not trying to deter anyone from this product because its a great lure and looks amazing underwater. You should buy it and give it a try, c'mon its a bomber its gotta be great. I'm probally just unlucky or am fishing it in the wrong areas. I'm sorry that this is gonna have a bad review and possibly a bad rating. Please don't let this stop you from buying this product. It will work, it just takes time. This lures not for me but that dosen't mean its not for you. Good lure but havn't had much luck with it, sorry. April 11, 2009
I love the action of these lures! I use Bombers all the time off the surf, and the Jointed Bombers really work well. They have great action and look more like a live swimming fish than a solid lure. I've caught plenty of bass and blues on Jointed Bombers and keep an assortment of them on hand. March 7, 2011
Best lure ever i just got this lure a week ago, already caught 3 stripers. It has an amazing swimming action. and this lure only costs $8. Buy It!!! (accually, dont buy it...more fish 4 me) May 2, 2010

A:
Any of the plug-type lures work best when tied to the line via a loop knot such as a Trilene knot or a spider hitch. That way the lure can swim freely without being guided by a knot tied firmly against whatever connection it has in front, which would make it track unnaturally.
Also, I'd fish straight mono 25# or 30# for slinging in the surf, no spectra.
