Bobby Garland Slab Slay'R
Best of the Best
I have used a boat load of jigs over the past 40 yrs. This is currently my first choice from my bag of over 500. The crappie swallow this one deep which makes the hook set into the thicker part of the fish. The 3" size, which I use the most keeps me in the 2+ pound size fish. Excellent for tight line jigging as well as trolling with a vibrating crank bait which gives the slayers tail that lethal action. I have also taken some heavy black and sand bass with this one. Disadvantage is that I average 10-20 fish per slayer due to the fact they swallow this one deep. Hope this is some help. Happy Fishing.

New Fav Crappie Bait
I have used the Garland series of baby shad baits and the albino baby shad has been my favorite for years, but the 3 inch chartreuse and black or blue (Junebug) SlayR have become my new favorite, especially the 3 inch variety. I fish them slow and on the drop often get hit. I may not get quite as many hits, but the key is that they catch bigger fish and I get keepers faster, with several over 15 inches. I also have trolled them with success and when they get worn, I cut a little off the top and reuse them as 2 inch or 2.5 inch baits with about the same effectiveness. Recently I was fishing and catching some nice crappie and a guy in another boat asked me what I was using. He wasn't catching any keepers. I gave him several of the SlayR's and he went on his way. I saw him 2 hours later and he had a big grin on his face. He had caught his limit. Be patient and they will work for bigger crappie.

Great Crappie Jig
These jigs are very high quality. I can catch 100 or more crappies without the jig having the slightest of tare. Some of the best colors I have ever used. I realy like the new "Love Bug" color for fishing in late winter. Great Jigs, I would recomend these to anywone looking for a DYNAMITE bait.

this is a great bait to catch nice size crappie as well as bluegill. the unique tail gives it a nice action in the water. ive also caught a few bass while fishing for panfish. i just wish there was a better variety of colors and solid colors too.
