I was nervous to purchase this at first because of the latch issue but I'm glad I got it. Beautiful supple leather, rich color, just large enough for my 15" Dell laptop. Roomy w/o being blocky like the larger case. No latch issues so far and I carried it by the handle and loaded. If it proves durable over the long term it will prove to be a great choice!

I agree with other review. This is a classic bag admired by many and almost all that see it want one. I too have problems with the latches that look solid but are always coming open. Shut them, go up the stairs ,they are back open. It is s a design flaw but a very beautiful CLASSIC well made bag... might try some chewing gum! I had a few handle screws loosen but added a dab of epoxy for a permanent fix wish that would work on the latches. I would give it 5 stars if it would stay closed.I

My first case would not stay latched when picked up by the handle. I did NOT have "too much in it". Continuously had contents spilling in overhead bins, while walking, etc. Exchanged and now have the exact same problem. The springs in the latches are not strong enough to stay locked. I have taken a hammer to try and close the snap loop - to no avail. The only way the case can be used is by carrying with the shoulder strap. It is a design flaw that 1) should be admitted, 2) should be addressed. I have no faith in either event.

I recently purchased the Top Loading Brief Case at full price. When I saw this one on sale I simply couldn't say no. After a few weeks of steady use I am totally pleased. As I stated on my rating I posted with the Top Loader; this newest bag has all the quality of the first. Many pleasant surprises with this one as well with features not mentioned in ad. Bravo again! Guess I'm starting a set of luggage here huh. :)
