Purchased bunk padding for a sailboat. Glued it and stapled it. Went on very easy. No complaints.

The padding worked great for repairing my bumpers. I just wish they came 6" wider.

I did like the carpet for the boat runners. The size that you can buy is great, that way you dont have alot of waist.A suggestion that i would like to make is that you would offer some type of glue or ways to install the carpet as a package deal. This is an ideal for people that have never done this.

The sizing of the boat trailer bunk padding does not work. If your bunks are made of 2" X 4" boards, the 8" padding is too narrow. If your bunks are made of 2" X 6" boards, the 12" padding is too narrow. You need at least 10" to wrap a 2" X 4" board and at least 14" to wrap a 2" X 6" board. Your only hope is to use the 12" padding to wrap a 2" X 4" board and cut off the excess padding. The 8" padding is useless and if you have 2" X 6" bunk boards, you're out of luck. Because of the sizing, this product makes it very difficult to cover your bunk boards.

1 piece is in each package. If you need anything wider or longer, you can order the standard carpet in whatever length you need, and cut it to fit your desired width. Cuts easily with scissors or a sharp utility knife. For best results cutting, cut from the back & on a firm surface, such as a piece of plywood or lumber. Hope this helps!
This is 16 oz. carpet, the same as the standard carpet. If you want the heavier weights, you can order the length you need in either the 6' or 8' widths and rip them down yourself, but this should be good for just about any application.
On my trailer I used stainless steel staples! Worked great. Over 5 year old and have not come use yet! I could not use the bunk carpet they have here because it would not fit on my 2x6 bunks. I had to have 16in wide carpet to go around the bunk!
The best way to attach this would be to glue it on, that way there are no metal surfaces to potentially scratch your boat. You can staple on the backside, or use roofing nails, but as the wood gets wet & then dries each time the boat goes into the water, they will slowly work their way back out of the wood. Hope this helps!
It comes in 12 foot lengths, and either 8 inch or 12 inch widths. Salt water should not affect the carpet, but I'm more familiar with fresh water. The carpet is rot resistant and is resistant to deterioration from oil & gas spills, so I would think that salt water is not going to have much impact on it. Good luck!
