I am not a person who works with carpet so I was pleased with how easy the carpet was to install.

I replaced the carpet on 6 bunks it was easy to work with. My bunks are 2”X4” I used treated lumber and coated them with a water sealer. I used the 12” wide carpet and had about 1” of overlap on the bottom and stapled it down about every 6” on the sides and bottom. Its working fine I’ve off loaded and loaded the boat about 6 times so far and have not seen a problem yet.

The carpet is good quality, but way to narrow to go around a 2x4

Allthough it may NOT be the factory replacement carpet that came installed on your origional bunks, it can be used as a great replacement bunk carpet just use a good marine adhesive on bunks and wrap carpet around them
1 piece is in each package. If you need anything wider or longer, you can order the standard carpet in whatever length you need, and cut it to fit your desired width. Cuts easily with scissors or a sharp utility knife. For best results cutting, cut from the back & on a firm surface, such as a piece of plywood or lumber. Hope this helps!
This is 16 oz. carpet, the same as the standard carpet. If you want the heavier weights, you can order the length you need in either the 6' or 8' widths and rip them down yourself, but this should be good for just about any application.
On my trailer I used stainless steel staples! Worked great. Over 5 year old and have not come use yet! I could not use the bunk carpet they have here because it would not fit on my 2x6 bunks. I had to have 16in wide carpet to go around the bunk!
The best way to attach this would be to glue it on, that way there are no metal surfaces to potentially scratch your boat. You can staple on the backside, or use roofing nails, but as the wood gets wet & then dries each time the boat goes into the water, they will slowly work their way back out of the wood. Hope this helps!
It's 12 foot lengths and either 8 inches wide or 12 inches. If you're using 2x4 wood, I recommend the 12 inch wide. As for salt water, I don't know, but it's salt water, nothing holds up that great in salt water.
It comes in 12 foot lengths, and either 8 inch or 12 inch widths. Salt water should not affect the carpet, but I'm more familiar with fresh water. The carpet is rot resistant and is resistant to deterioration from oil & gas spills, so I would think that salt water is not going to have much impact on it. Good luck!
