I know this rod was designed for crappie fishing, but I use it for trolling for walleyes. I normally hold it in my hand while trolling crankbaits. I am not kidding when I say it is the best rod I have ever used for this. Great for feeling the vibration of the crank bait and knowing when it bouncing off bottom. Also allows the walleye to take bait in with the action of the rod. THUMBS UP!!!

I really like this rod. I fish for crappie on KY lake and like to cast and jig for crappie the eight foot version of this rod allows me to do both. The rod has a light tip yet when you load it up to heave a slab over the side of the boat you'll find it is plenty stout enough. I paired it with an underspin reel and I can cast with it all day and not wear my arm out. The soft cork handles are also a nice touch.
