I bought this for crappie and bluegill fishing. I really like the extension pole BUT the real is not worth a darn. it is a very CHEAP AND POORLEY MADE OR THOUGHT OUT. COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT BETTER...NOT A CADILLAC WITH THIS REEL...

I have caught 8 lb. cats on this pole. lots of bass 4 or 5 lbs. Many crappie and bream.
I use 20 pound Floro Carbon line. On 3/18/12 my fishing buddy hooked into a catfish that had a 12 to 14" wide head. The fight lasted only about 30 secounds. The pole was so badly bent by the weight of the fish, the pole shattered the handle portion about 8" from the 2nd section. 5 sec. later the 20lb. line broke. this was at Buckeye Lake in Ohio. The B and M Company is sending another handle portion for $7.00.

The reel is in the handle with, I think 10 lb. mono.

Disregard the previous answer. The reel is part of the pole. As you can see in the picture it is at the very bottom of the pole.3 years, 11 months ago
