The longest-lasting finish, but slower to darken than the liquid blues. Easy-to-use Birchwood Casey® PERMA BLUE® Paste Gun Blue reacts slowly with the metal but builds up a denser finish that will outlast the liquid blues. Excellent for touch-up or complete reblueing. Metal must be clean and free of rust and sealed with Sheath® Rust Preventive to enhance and protect the finish. A dark blue color may require three or more applications of PERMA BLUE Paste, but each coat takes only 30 to 60 seconds to work. Apply with cotton swab. Complete instructions on each tube.

Birchwood Casey Perma Blue Paste I have just used a tube of Perma Blue Paste to touch up an old Remington Model 10A pump 12 ga. I think the tube was originally from my dad's old gun cleaning kit. I was amazed to find how well it worked, after so long a time. My dad passed away in 1967. I was also very proud to find the gun blue past is still on the market, since my old tube is about gone. I will buy a new tube as soon as I can get it. Hope it is still as good as the old stock was. It did such a great job touching up, I will re-blue the entire gun when I get a new supply. works wonders I have never written a review on anything I have ever purchased before but I was so impressed with this product, I just had to say something about it. I was in need of re-bluing my Winchester 94 and thought I’d give Perma Blue a shot. I wanted a very nice blue job done but being that I only paid $9 on the stuff, I was afraid of what the results would turn out to be. So, I decided to try it on an old air rifle I have first; the results were outstanding! I was very pleased! There was a nice, dark, even coat finish over the whole gun. I couldn’t wait to blue my 94 and the outcome remained the same. January 17, 2013
Never knew it was so easy..... I had recently purchased a Rifle at a Pawn shop that had a spot where the Bluing was worn through to silver metal. It looked like the gun might have rode around in a gun rack on a ranch. I just cleaned the spot real well with alcohol to get the oil off then applied the Perma Blue® Paste to the problem area with a Q-Tip and let it work for about 30 seconds .... Cleaned off with a wet cloth. Buffed it with a dry cloth. It already looked 100% better, but I re-applied twice more to darken up some more. The Silver spot has 'disappeared' I can still see it a little but nobody else would notice unless they knew where to look. It definitely helped the beauty and resale value of the gun. I only used a nickels worth. I wish I had discovered this stuff years ago... March 25, 2014
best stuff i bought a tube 22 years ago and I just ran out. the instructions were simple and the results were fantastic. I didn't think I could do that good a job. but I did. I re-blued a friends old 22 and when he got it back, he doubted this was his old rifle. I ordered two more tubes because California isn't allowing anymore blueing products in. I highly recommend this product. don't use the liquid. it takes forever and the results aren't close to the paste. August 21, 2014
