Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Produce For the most part my experience with this product was good. The directs are clear, but could have used a little more detail when it came to drying the barrel after rinsing. Due to some moisture on the barrel the bluing did streak a little, but is hardly noticeable when all is said and done. This was my first time bluing a barrel with any product and as long as you follow the directions you can't go wrong. April 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product Just finished re-bluing a Savage Model 94 Single Shot Shotgun. This gun looked like something that was ready for the trash. Now it looks great. I never thought that anything could make this gun look so good. March 1, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bluing Currently re-doing a 1903 cressent arms double barrel 12 ga. Had some rust so found this kit and saved me some time and money. Followed directions and removed the old bluing and rust then re-blued it. Looks brand new again. Make sure before yo blue to really get the old stuff off. certain spots I thought I had gotten off dont look to hot but can eaasily be redone. January 19, 2009

A:
I have done repair work on rusty guns. I found that you should use very fine steel wool to remove surface rust first, then use the bluing. I have found that removing the bluing with gun oil rather than water works best on old weapons. If you want to stay with the instructions, the water should be lukewarm.

A:
If you want to make it look new take it to a professional gun smith. These kit very rarely match factory bluing. If the Gun is not clean and treated properly before the bluing is added the rust will com back.
