Bill Dance Select Baitcast Rod and Reel Combo
I have the older version of this product and I have to say it's questionable. They seem to have put all work into the inside of the product, not the outside. For example the reel seems very smooth for its price and still works for me after three years. However the button for the fell off leaving just a metal stick to push. (Which still works fine)The drag is alright except that it seems to slip after time to lighter drag pressure and you have to set it where you want it again. Also many of the outside pieces seem to be made of plastic. The rod is also the same way. It is what I love the most about the combo, and also what I hate. The rod is 6'6" with 7 guides and a foam handle. It is a very sensitive rod that works well with 14 to 20 pound test line. I love the action of the rod for almost anything! The problem again is the outer components. Three guides have already fallen off during fishing and another is just barely holding on. Another annoyance is that the insert for the guide tip has popped loose and constantly need to pushed back in. The only reason this product does not get a 2 to 3 star rating is that for a product of this price reel should not work this well after this long and rods this sensitive normally cost over 100 dollars alone! I suggest this combo to beginners and those who want to save money. It's a great combo as long as you don't mind replacing guides.

brake broke after three weeks
I bought this as my first bait-caster. It was very easy to learn to use, everything was great. Practiced in the yard with some plugs, got the hang of it very nicely. Went on a trip and after the 2nd day i noticed that when i was cranking it was making a grinding noise that wasn't there before. Didn't think much of it just wearing it in. So after the 5th day the grinding is getting even worse..and then the brake stops working completely. maybe I got bad luck, but i will be taking this one back and picking up an Abu Garcia REVO SX, I have been using one of my family members, and that thing is incredibly smooth and I can tell inst going to give up after a week.

Get What You Pay For
My boy loved the spinning combo I gave him for Christmas, so I decided to get both he and I the baitcasting combo for his birthday. The spinning rod and reel are actually pretty impressive.
The baitcasting reel gets the job done, but is a little sloppy - The baitcasting rod is functional and has a nice action, but the guides are consistently misaligned. I returned the first two shipped, but both the replacement's guides were just as crooked. ...For an $80 combo, however, it's not bad enough to justify trying again - which I'm guessing would be futile anyway. ...I didn't point out the flaw to my boy and he LOVED the gift.

Bought this rod for bass. Easy to use with spinner baits and crank baits, just need to find a proper setting for the least amount of back lash. I've also used it quite a bit for flippin even though it has no flippin button. I like the rod action on the med-heavy stick, good back bone with a nice tip action.Might want to move up to the heavy action in slop. Over all good rod combo for the price.
